Autoglym blade...

Postby MaverickUK82 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 10:04 pm

Are those rubber blades which are used to swipe the excess water off the car before waffle weaving the car dry a big no no?

Also, when I dry the car with meguairs water magnet towels, it still leaves what looks like smears and doesn't completely dry the car... what's the next step to get rid of this?

Detailing spray and microfibre?

I would avoid a blade. Get the smallest bit of a foreign body under the blade and you'll know about it. Give it to the wife and tell her to use it on the shower door glass only.

You need a final finish type detailer but this will depend on what products you are using to protect your car.

I love Zymol Field Glaze but I use Zymol wax. There are plenty of others on the market.

I've used Autoglyms extra gloss protection after polishing, followed by a coat of their HD Wax...

But don't want to be waxing it everytime i clean the car...?

What do you recommend?

Ditch the water magnet - they're well below the standard of most waffle weave/microfibre drying towels...
Going round corners just got a whole lot faster...

D'oh.

I've bought three.

What do you recommend Clark? I did think they were s**t (so much so I bought two more - lol).

I use Deep Pile Luxury Drying towels. You can find them on the Polished Bliss website, I'd give you a link but dont want to be seen as totally taking the piss with advertising!
