Foaming/Foam Lance...

When I clean my car, I use one of these:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_217894_langId_-1_categoryId_165569

And am currently halfords own pressure wash detergent.

I do this as a pre-wash.

Aftewards, it's the two buckets with Autoglym shampoo. Everything I use is autoglym.

I think the halfords detergent is stripping the wax off the car...

I want to know if the foaming attachment is any good - it was only £15. And what's the best detergent for foaming...?

I have a Karcher pressure washer.

I would think it is taking some of the wax off.

I was told megs gold class, autoglmm etc etc took wax off so im sure halfords own aint the best.

Megs hyperwash rules imho.

I keep meaning to buy a foam lance from polished bliss.... i keep putting it off. Tank of fuel or Foam lance ???

I have seen the foam lances for £50. Are they that much better than the Karcher one I have?

It doesn't foam up nowhere near as much as I've seen on youtube.

The foam doesn't cling for much more than 30 seconds...

But it might be the detergent...

Just ought the Autobrite HD Lance, massive bottle of Autobrite Supa Snow Foam and A massive bottle of Meguiars Hyper Wash....

Really impressed with it.

I used 100ml of SSF and 100ml of the HyperWash topped the rest up with water and had quite a good foam set up, but not that good though...

what's the best mixture/amount for total foaming action?!

You get better foam if you mix the solution with warm water.

Regards concentrations I use about 100ml of Megs in a litre bottle but I don't use Snow foam. I experimented with it on a old car of mine and I thought it seemed quite aggressive? The literature implies it is not aggressive but I didn't like the final finish after using the snow foam. It seems to mute any gloss that was left on the car. This was a one car sample and I didn't get on with it.

Bro. I may try it next time without the snow foam...

I used 1ltr bottle with 100ml supa snow foam, 100ml hyper wash and topped it up to the top with very warm water (think a 10 minute old cup of tea!)

I did get a good foam, but need to experiment, I may add a bit more hyperwash next time...

Less is often more in my opinion. Start weak and build up.
