Somehow, when polshing my car the otherday, i must have somehow picked some grit up and have feint scratches all over my bonnet. Inspecting the car I've got them everwhere - not from my polishing, the car's just picked them up over it's life.

I was thinking of using Autoglym's Paint Renovator, just once to really give it a good polish, by hand, followed by the Super Resin Polish, followed by their HD Wax.

Is does this sound like a plan - I know the resin polish has a higher cut than the polish, but it should be ok to do this just the once?

I darent' use one of those motorised polising tool/buffers etc.

I used a electic polisher once, burnt the paint right of the bumper

It is a specialist job, get someone else to do it, ask Clark if there is a detailer he could recommend in you area.

You'll do well to polish much out by hand.

Look at polishers like Porter Cable and there are others. They are random orbital and hence you don't get the heat build up that you get with a normal polisher that a pro uses and hence you can't damage your paint unless you sit on it for 5 mins.

Regards Pros, I would not let any "pro" near my car with a polisher unless they were very experienced, respected and called Clark. Any other wannbe could prove to be a very false economy.
