Gloss

I polished my WR1 with Autoglym's auto polish and then with the deep gloss one.
I've now decided I want to clay it on the next available opportunity... As it's got the gloss on it, have i got to get it off now somehow or will it come off from washing?

Under what circumstances would you use the agressive clay bar Clark? Does it just remove surface deposits quicker?

what lubricant do you recommend? can you just use car shampoo?

I have the mild bar and it works on pretty much everything...even if you 'think' your car is clean!
for the lube, keep your KY in the drawer, and save cash on the detailer spray...a little washing up liquid in water is enough. Just a dilute mix in a spray bottle. Works for me.
The water is only there so the clay can aquaplane over it.

Defo agree... I tend to use car shampoo though... Washing up liquid is for girls and dishes!

In that case I'll use shampoo then. Should I just dilute it as the instructions say? or should I use a stronger solution?

nope just a teenie weenie amount...
enough to provide some slick for the clay to slide over, it doesn't need much.
you are not trying to scrub it with the clay...just let it glide over it.

You need to watch what shampoos you use if you're making your own lubricant as quite a few will eat into the clay and it'll eventually break into pieces. I generally just use plain water for claying

Just bought Meguires Smooth Surface Clay Kit, which comes with lubricant so am sorted hopefully. Although, wasted all day sorting the shed out. Hopefully if it's dry tomorrow, I'll be able to do it then.

I cut my clay bar into three. Use it for a few panels and then throw it at the neighbours cat.
