2006 Ford Focus ST - MegamanHiya,
Before you all start slating the car, I know the subaru is a better handling car etc so hear me out Here are some pics of my other toy - Ford Focus ST. It was one of the first in the country, took delivery in the december before the official launch in Jan 2006. Brief History... After I got the car I looked to remap it due to the boost only being 0.6bar. I worked with Superchips (they make a handheld unit that remaps your car via ODBC port) to get a decent map for the car taking the car up to 250bhp with loads more torque. Following this I went for the first ever Graham Goode Racing conversion in the UK which was documented in Fast Ford Magazine. This includes the following modifications: Cold air induction kit - really improves throttle response and gives up to +20 bhp due to the ecu being housed in the middle of the normal air intake tube making it very restrictive.. Radtec intercooler - This is about 3 times as high as the original and about twice as thick. This massively improved the turbo response times and the boost would come on and stay on instead of backing off as it did before this mod.. Large stainless steel downpipe - adds +25bhp by removing a big bottleneck and gives the car a nice deep tone. Magnex 3" exhaust with 4" tailpipes - links to the large downpipe and gives the car a nice bassy note Bluefin/Dreamsciencce Remap - I have tested 11 ecu maps in total on my car and have found a very nice torquey map that produces around 316bhp and 360lbft torque. The downside is the mpg drops significantly from 22 to 13 when using this map but the car has some right grunt top end out dragging many larger supposedly quicker cars. I have kept the car standard on the outside so as not to attract thieves or boy raccers.. its a wolf in sheeps clothing so to speak which gives me a nice advantage. The number of faces ive seen pulled as what they think is a normal focus pi**es past them is a gem.. here are a few pics as requested: Intercooler: Magnex Exhaust: Engine bay (mucky): Induction Kit: Here is a pic of it next to the wifes ST (Moded up to 172bhp) 2 ST's:
Like the zorst. Looks like that is what was intended. Sweet.
Thanks for taking the time to post your pictures. DO you own the tractor too?
No mate these pics were taken up at the in laws place - he bought the massey furgason tractor out of the blue - must be a mid life crisis or something
The tractor looks like a "T20"
You could but them for a tenner 20 years ago, now a good one is worth in excess of a thousand possibly more This one is up for TRACTOR FERGUSON T20 Price £1850.00 Last edited by WR 1mposter on Mon Mar 31, 2008 11:19 pm, edited 1 time in total.

By the way that particular model t20 runs on a mixture of petrol/tvo.

In the dry its okay, but in greasy or wet roads you just have to be gentle. The car actually drives like a diesel as the turbo comes in far lower down the revs than the scooby. From 1500 rpm it will literally pull like a train. In reality you get moving with first then stick it in second and put the power down with that. Power delivery is rapid and the torque is imense. Once in third gear upwards the car easily handles the full power and it outdrags many other cars on the road. 330 bmw's / m3's / sti's etc etc.. top end is where the real grunt seems to have the biggest effect.
If I could get the same torque in the scoob it would be a real monster. Im hoping to mod my WR1 at some point go give it a bit more mid to top end grunt as it is noticably slower than the ford... Still i much prefer driving the subaru now and wont go back to the ST without a fight from the missus Cheers Mega
Since when did you become the tractor guru? I remember firing it up and getting it stuck in gear, took me two laps of a field to get the thing to stop
Lived in Cornwall for over 30 years, and 30 years ago all we had for transport were tractors, my mate had a t20 and 2 massey 35's fpmsl at me 2007 BMW M5

Moved !
I think this defo has a place in the Garage section. Very nice ST, btw. Drove one as renter some months ago and really liked the car. Ashame the traction was a bit of a problem when driving fast in (wet) small roads. I'd love to see yours when I'm in the UK !
