Andy Forrest was pleased with it and said the car was on its absolute limit given injectors and turbo so whatever the limit is its there! 8)

Hello Scutchy Babe.

The lure of the 4 doors is strong in this one guys! He is all sprogged up so he wants something a little less special. :D

PMSL hello hunny

I dont particularly want to sell, Mark. However

* 4 doors would be easier with baby
* Just over 50k miles on the P1 now, and the more miles it clocks up, the harder it will be to sell
* Although the P1's are stunning, they look a little dated now
* More reliable engine, safer and better build quality in the newer cars
* Nng!

I dont want to lose the fun factor, but how much fun can I lose with a car which has better performance figures out of the box? :?

Will be tough!

Agree with everything you say, until the last sentence.

It's necessarily the performance figures that make a car 'fun'

A WR1 is still fun, just not as much fun as the P1.

:)

How would you define fun in this case?

I'm talking about from a pure driving point of view, no doubt the cars out the box are very similiar, maybe the WR1 a tad quicker point to point, but you sit high in a WR1, and the steering feel and connection with the road is not that of a P1.

Not that i have owned a WR1 of course, but i have driven Bro's for a few hundred miles now including high speed mapping and a few trips up and down the fosse way which is a great drivers road if you get it at the right time.

Don't get me wrong, they are superb cars, but just look at the amount of people that have gone back to P1's after having a STI8 or WR1, or wish (from a driving point of view) they had not made the change.

Have a test drive in a Spec C - Now they are great fun, and you can get a Spec C limited with all the electrics and sound proofing in as well.

I certainly thought Bro's boot was bigger than the P1 boot as well.

Paul N is the only one you will know, there are quite a few on the P1 site though.

I agree nice P1 indeed.

Having never owned or driven a P1, I can't compare the two, all I know is I love my 1, it is the best car I have owned by far 8)

It is a common thing that newer cars in becoming more refined, lose the harder edged fun factor that goes with it.

He still has both though....well I think he does :? , although he does'nt particually like the WR1 and his mrs defo does'nt

Maybe the far better ride and quality makes it seem lesser

Yeah he does have both, but the WR1 stays in the garage apparently.

Maybe he can sell his current P1, then swap his WR1 for my far superior model  8)

Just seen this, yeh have both P1 & WR1, think Mark's summed up the differences from our point of view  :D

Don't worry Scutch mate the WR1 is a great car  :D

Took the WR1 out for a quick blast yesterday, first time it's moved for a month  Like I say it's a great car, just feel it's not as much fun & the driving position is 1 of the main gripes  :D
The WR1 does the long distance stuff, not that the P1 is a problem to drive, been to Corsica twice, Spain & Germany in the P1, with no issues  :D
Trouble is I have to confess I do have more confidence with the safety of the WR1 engine & with another trip to Corsica this year & possibly driving to Finland it will get some use in the summer months  :D
