POSSIBLY......?

HELLO..... Get them posted!

Would you prefer that we weren't interested?

also, PHONE? get a digital camera and get some semi-professional photos posted within the next 24hours please !

I have a digital camera and by this time 2moro they will be up. Its easier for older people to be out in the street taking photos of their cars and polishing it!!!

Guy at garage told me the car has 321 BHP, can someone tell me if in the sceheme of things that is good? As i have said i wont lie and say i know much about cars so a nudge from a car enthusiast would be appreciated. Is this way off the power of a WR1 and Evo?

WR1s only make 321bhp when it is minus 7 degrees!!

321 might be slightly ambitious for a 97 M3 Evo

321 is the normal power for that generation of M3. And 100bhp per litre for a normally aspirated engine is good.

It means it's an animal that is breathing very freely. And it should scream it out when you redline it

I don't think this type of car should be compared with the Evo or scoob though.

Yes, both are performance cars but it's comparing apples and lemons.

A scoob or Evo will shine on normal roads on a miserably wet autumn day. if you know how to make use of the 4WD, nothing will come close.

The beemer, just like the Merc AMG etc are made to eat hundreds of miles at 155 mph. You get out the other end and you'll be as fit as when you got in.

I would be careful. To modify such car and do a proper job, it generally costs lots more money than to modify a turbo charged Jap machine that was developed in the first place to be tuned for rallydriving.

I would try to get her as original as possible.

IMHO cars like that shouldn't be modified as it makes them look like cheap 5th hand pimpmobiles. If someone touches it: Alpina.

Get it back to its new state and then ... Zymol 8)

Ok, i will get pics up tommorrow and then you good people can cast the eyes over her.

Its techno violet which actually looks like blue in the daylight and black at night unless im colourblind!!!

One more question as im not sure if the dealer was taking me for a dick. He said that im lucky to have got a techno violet m3 so cheap as they are normally more expensive. He said they only released 3 colours for original m3's - estoril blue, techno violet and yellow?? True or false?

False. 10 years ago, when I was working as car journalist, I got that version of the M3 and, I know I am colourblind, but I am sure that one was silver.

Glad someone has said that as on Autotrader there were a few silver M3 Evos so either they were all wrong or the dealer was bullshi$$ing me

Thanks for this, its no real big deal whether he was lying to me or not its just the fact that he tried to make me out to be a dick for questioning him.

He said yellow, estoril blue and techno violets were only 3 original m3 evo colours. I said i have seen a few silver on autotrader as i have been looking and he said they are fakes!!!

Strange guy that he was. The garage actually sells Ferraris and Bentleys and the like as well so its all a bit worrying if he actually thought he was really right!! :o

Original E30 started with 195 bhp out of a 2.3.

By the end of its career, it was at 238bhp out of a 2.5.

The E36 replaced it with a 3.0 6 cilinder that developed 286bhp.

Then came the 3.2 (321 bhp).

The same engine came to the last M3 with 343bhp.
