Refurbed wheels and new tyres.

Postby Chris B » Sun Mar 03, 2013 9:55 am

Just had the wheels done in Smoked chrome and the new Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres fitted, very pleased with the work ,
it seems to give the car a more aggressive look.

Sorry lads,I dd'nt mention who did the wheels, they were done by the wheel specialist in Burton-upon-trent...they do have other depots around .....the colour is Smoked Chrome,Mark has his wheels done too.
Things to watch though, you don't want the back face of the wheel powder coating,if it becomes soft due to heat you could have the wheels becoming loose, also we used a small sanding wheel on the centre of the wheel where the Prodrive cap goes as the powder coating causes the wheel to stick to the hub.
RCM always mask off the back face of any wheels they have done with chrome tape.

these guys are only up the road from me so may use them - looks like they are well recommended.

When the wheels have been powder coated ask the guys to sand the back face of the wheel, where the wheel touches the hub.
