Ha cheers mate.. Ha rare car is that one boys.. It's nice but needs chipping fmi and downpipe then little quicker it's not slow by the way but a tuned wr1 to 210 bhp is quite a drop.. Pops and bangs more than the one tho..

Mega anytime mate is there an Asda charity this year ill be at that 100% I missed it last year..

Do you really want a lot more power in a FWD car?

I used to have a Focus ST that was the first in the UK to get the GGR 300 then the 330bhp upgrades. at 330bhp it lost its driveability and was a right torque steering handful. In the wet you could light up the wheels in third. So 200-250ish is about the max i would go in fwd. I get sick of my megane sport flashing esp all the time on wet roads when driving briskly but not fast. In the dry though the megane is great fun :)

On the plus side you will be able to fix the gearbox and change the diff fairly easily at work? :)

Ha very funny. No Deisel here have a google v rare beast that is..
Mega easy job there decent boxes really 5 speed have issues but 6s are decent any problems then it's a warranty job. BMW don't sell parts for gearboxes they only sell boxes...

Of course, Megane Sport is pretty bad in the snow being light weight and cheapo tyres.

I can imagine mate although you would save money getting some winter tyres on the megan than going to work in the one.. I left the car at home and come in with Steve (David's) dad new discovery ;) snow what snow

Wifes got a Discovery 3 for when it gets really bad but the WR1 is great fun in the snow so much rather take the wr1 and pay the extra vpower :)
Every day in the snow I flick the DCCD to manual, reverse off the drive in locked mode, move to fully open DCCD, hard right lock, blip the throttle and do a 180 degree spin whilst straightening up the wheels, as you get to 180 degrees push dccd up to locked, without letting off the power fully, the car grips and pulls me down the snow filled cul de sac where I want to go. Looks great doing one big powerslide then carrying on out of the close. Luckily I have a lot of room to do this in our cul de sac :)

Haha yeah that's right transform it into rear wheel drive for the 180* spin then locked to unleash traction.. Done it before although not too good putting it in locked whilst the centre dif is still moving (wheels going round) ..
Worse still
Just cairful launching I did it in mine loads but 1st gear is tiny
This is 5speed but same principle
Image
Happens all the time..
You have had your box out haven't you?

When doing my power upgrade 2k miles ago I took my 6 speed box out and sent it to API as your Dave didnt want to touch it, to be serviced and to get 3rd / 4th uprated. I don't do launches, you do it once to see if the car can do 0-62 in 4.3secs then when you realise it can and that you smell the oem clutch for the next 15 miles you think again before trying. :)

6speds rarely have the sort of issue that "can" appear on 5spd boxes (late 5spd's far better than early ones generally)
