I know it's not a subaru, but i thought i'd put it up anyway. I've had it about 6 years, bought it as a standard GTI Turbo and it's been great. It was seriously lacking any decent power as standard so i decided to have a play with it as it actually handles great and the build quality is typically German! It's now on 145k miles on the same engine, gearbox and clutch and has never been apart, but then i service is every 3k miles and it feels like new (god i don't want to get rid of it now, ha ha!!)

Spec;

1.8 20v turbo

Forge fmic

Cold intake (enclosed in wing to keep the nasty water out)

Larger afm

Neuspeed heat resistant intake gaskets

Hybrid Ko3s turbo de-silenced

Sports frequency boost control valve

Complete stainless exhaust inc de-cat

Fully adjustable FK Sport + coilovers

Polybushed inc gearbox torsion mount

Audi 312mm front brakes

Full braided hose kit

18" lightweight Inovit GTR wheels

Stage 2 JBS custom remap - Power unknown (20psi), but it embarrasses Focus st's and is so balanced on the track.

Full Anniversary kit, blended and smoothed

Full professional re-spray in original Jizz (Jazz) blue

Done!

How come you haven't rolling roaded it to check the output power? I thought that would have been a fairly standard thing to do after tuning...?

Nice looking car, is it also road legal or do you just use it on a track? How much are you going to put it up for?

Thanks mate. It was live mapped by JBS, so it's done on the road. I could have paid to have it power tested, but i was so happy with the result, i just made my way home. I've been offered 3k for it, so with the mileage i'd think it was about right. It is road legal, although it helps when you have a good mate as an MOT tester ;)

How much is the insurance on it? Does it drink fuel with the mods you have done?

I pay 425 fully comp with all modifications declared. It's great on fuel, 35 around town and 40 on a run. Obviously around 15 on a track day. . . .

Surprising numbers for a modified car but good in the current climate!

Agreed, it's one reason why i drove 6 hours to let JBS do it though. They live and breath anything VAG and the live mapping allows them to set it up realistically as opposed to just putting it to it's maximum which is pretty hopeless unless you want to show off to chavs in a car park. I just can't wait to finally fulfill a very old dream of having a nice Impreza :D

Good luck finding one, I'd take your time and choose carefully. If you get a good one you won't be disappointed, they are awesome bits of kit.

I will mate. Been in the trade for 12 years and seen too many dogs that have been hammered and abused, which is why i signed up here tbh. You can get a good idea of the types of owners through these sites and hopefully i'll grab one that i can keep as a minter.
