that 888 is nice.. im on the astraownersclub and some of them on there are stupid.. over 350bhp out of some astras.. spend loads aswell. i like the black mk4. mines the diesel. im aiming to hit 150bhp out of it. just over double what the factory let it out at. just needs a bit of looking after. but then again im not fussed. waiting for insurance to run up and then see what my options are from there. Vectra SRi 150bhp diesel is what i have in mind or the Astra H SRi

Yeah the 888 was awesome, a bit too powerful for FWD and was very unconfortable being a touring car, but I enjoyed it :D

Yeah I used to be on astraownersclub (Ferret SRi), not been on it for years!

Work your way up, that's what I did. Consider the Astra G 2.2, it's a decent car and decent on power. But if your after an Astra you can mod, then you want a Turbo, Astra GSi was best for this. Astra G are quite cheap. I've had my fun with the Astras and now joined the Scooby crew

So it's your uncle who got the WR1 then?

yeah he has the WR1. its not about the money for the car really or even the modifying. its the insurance premiums i get charged because im only 19. on this astra diesel standard 3rd party its over £1000.. well over. i wouldnt mind having a honda civic vtec. 1.6 164bhp as standard and bulletproof engines.. but again the insurance company wants just over £2k.. cant justify that on a car that costs less than the insurance.going to wait till i hit 21 with 4years NCB and then get a sports car i hope

I know what your talking about, my first car a Fiesta cost me £1,800 on the insurance when I was 20! Then my first Astra was £1,400 at 23, the price then stayed the same, I just kept upgrading my Astras. The 888 was £1,000 and now the Scooby the same.

So you'll have to work your way up with age, so the insurance becomes affordable.
