Indeed, that makes a lot of sense else your would have to get your wallet out again mate.

Is that why you put yours in an RS4 while she put you in a 1 ? :?

OMG mate... I had nothing to do with the RS4 mate. Every penny was paid for by the wife.

Regards the WR1, we shared the cost of that as it was a joint wedding present.

Still going strong.

Needs an MOT soon and probably should get it serviced. Key question is whether I take it to a dealer for a service or service it myself. It's a fairly inexpensive car and one wonders whether spending several hundred quid on a service is really doing anything to the value of the car whereas I can change oil, filters etc as well myself.

Giving it a wash this afternoon (I use the stands when washing the cars to jet the cr@p from the underside)

Im like the massive lock blocked parking area around your wee pad.
I respect the Merc, although not my cup of tea.
It may not be in the photo's but i could use your Evo.

But that Lexus is one ugly useless piece of motoring to forget.
The WR1 be safe in the knowledge that, short of strapping yourself to an Acme rocket, there's no quicker way to get from A to B.

Is only a fraction of the parking.

Lexus is a cheap runabout. My girlfriend needed a safe and reliable car that is easy to drive. A scoob or Evo is none of the 3. And I don't think a young woman who's only driving since 2 years wants to drive a 100K+ 525bhp AMG.

For what it needs to do, I can't fault the Lexus on any point. Super reliable, super easy to drive, dirt cheap and faster on snow than your WR1

As for the Evo, if you had followed the different discussions on this forum, you'd have known it was in Finland at the moment :finger:

Oh Swedey babe i do follow your posts with the upmost attention, hence i had typed my aformentioned comment without even bothering to wait for all your photo's to load up.
Its could be that responses like that from you are the reason why the guys on the MLR were more interested on your WRC test drive post than the good folks here on an actual Impreza forum.

Anyhoo the Lexus is still shit so stick that in your motoring article :D

Are you using those studded tyres now (even though the snow has melted?) do they not damage the road?
[Just incase this gets lost in translation, I am not slandering you, I know people can be sensitive to these harsh words.]

I dunno, I never get out of the car while driving to check :?

I'll keep the wintertyres on for a while still while we're at risk of having bad weather. Better safe than sorry.

Thank your wife for the heads up on that :thumb:

If the studs are running on tarmac or other hard surface, do they damage the studs?

They do obviously wear a bit. But let's not forget they run these things in Scandinavia on tarmac for many miles every years as you fit the tyres in September and keep them until May.

They're actually not steel, but tungsten. They're very strong.

The secret probably lays in the way how the stud is attached to the tyre.

Have a look at the animation here under air shock absorber. Might help understanding.

Clever stuff Swede. Must cost a bit those tyres? How many miles/kms do you get out of the sets you have had?

I will. She's actually looking still for a desperate soul who can live with her. Looks like you'd fit the bill.

Sorry no can do, my diary is already full up with desperate housewives.

The next time you go out rallying take your wife along and i am sure she would be happy to get gang-banged by a pack of local huskies round the back of the trees.
She could call it her Rally Special Stage.

Or runabout has proven its use again.

We live not far from Isola 2000 so I decided to put the Evo's (and even scoob's) old wintertyres on the Lexus again for our weekends out skiing.

Who needs 4WD? I've even switched the traction control off to climb this hill (pure ice). I dare you to do this with a scoob on summertyres.

Considering how slippery it was, getting up there with a RWD car was indeed. All other used snowchains.

Most impressive to me is still how good this little thing has performed so far. In the end, we bought this car 2 years ago with just over 100K on the clock and for little money.

I thought it'd only be a runabout for the lady. I didn't expect we'd also be driving this thing to Southern-France or be using it to ferry 5 people with luggage to a skiing resort etc. It's boring as hell to drive, but the perfect workhorse.

Sitting in a boring car with you for a long journey would make me want to pull my teeth out and possibly punch you in the head.

Every time you've been with me in the car you've been too busy giggling (or screaming) to punch me in the head.

Good point, next time I'll just punch you before I get in the car.

Any news you wanna share Swede?
