Presa,

You didn't get that from 'GC Motors' did you next to the Shell Garage? I saw an M5 from there being driven like it had been stolen!! :?

Looked like someone was takin it for a test drive as they always go up the A59 from that garage past my house... they can open then up, bikes usually go there because of the great road... It was defo a black M5 and the tyres were on fire!!

Presa the car is fantastic, stunning totally stunning, I love the piano black trim, wish I had that In mean really.

What a car, it so hard to tell people how good they are, and just how insanely fast they are, its a bit of an art getting grip though isnt it, third gear wheel spins in the wet at 100mph scary.

Heres a stock M5 in the wet

Yes I really wanted to find one with the piano black it is nice, very hard to maintain though as there are already some hair line scratches on it. Why doesn't anyone make anything scratch resistant these days

It is mental, it just never lets up on power, its a constant hit all the way through the rev range, and its acceleration is very deceptive, look down and you're easily doing silly speeds.

Nice vid, can't believe he videoed it one handed in the wet, mind you I'm sure it easily took it in its stride.......what a car 8)

That piano black is just 8) , as is the rest of the inside.

Was the piano black a BMW Individual option ?

PS: Good luck cleaning

Because its the facelifted M5 the interior is different as this was one of the main changes as part of the facelift, hence the buttons and ash try are arranged differently in the centre of the dash, the active M-seats button is now either side of the ashtray.....still can't get used to them by the way, puts me off a bit as it seems a little un-natural for some reason, they do work though. 8)

According to the current M5 brochure Piano Black is a BMW individual option for £525 as bigman says....

The extended champagne leather is also an individual option.

Logic 7 sound system
Soft close doors

They started production of the facelift in March 07, so the first few months of registration would not have been facelifted, I did some research prior to buying and this is what I found out about the facelifted version.......

Exterior
Clear Glass technology on headlamps and indicator units.
Kidney grill now sits flush with the front bumper
A redesigned front valance with a larger air duct.
Side sill has an additional contour line
Rear indicators and running brake lights now use horizontal LED light bars

Interior
Door panels redesigned with extra trim and softer window switches integrated into the horixontal armrests
Centre dash rearranged with programmable shortcut buttons for I-Drive
Location of the door handles moved
Improved response of the I-Drive
Pearl Gloss chrome inserts on the radio and temperature controls

As you say if you put them side by side you'd struggle to tell the difference from the outside, apart from the rear LED lights which really emphasise the width of the wide boys rear 8)

He buys an M5 and two weeks later some kiddo comes up with a more recent one and tells him he's driving the old model. Would you take that kind of shit ? :?

  appologies the taxi jibe was low

erm, I tried the E55 compressor swede and frankly
it didnt float my boat, quick but hellish in every other way
from dodgy auto box to horrid seats.

Obviously your beast is most likely a world better
so I would have to reserve judgement, the only thing with me
is that I like to have street credibility, everyone knows that an
M5 is the ultimate road car, everyone wants one.

With the mercs, its not the same, I have had a couple, I really
liked my CLK430 with AMG garnish, however folk slagged me,
they asked if I was from a travelling back ground, or did I work
on a tarring squad

Nope, Im up for a test run though if we ever get to one of these WR1
owners club meets, Bro, please bare in mind, I only stay 5 star when
booking future events, and I dont do go karts, paintballs, quads or crossing rivers in a team using margarine tubs and sellotape,.

Ref streetcred, I don't care myself really about it. Although I must say that I am not a fan of M-cars when it comes to image. They get quite often associated with the boyracers in Enfield. Which is really ashame as they are beautifully engineered cars.

I am surprised you complain about the seats and the box in the E55. When I tested the M5, I couldn't complain about the seats, but as they were not available in massaging and ventilated version then, they didn't tick the boxes too much. The E has that available.
The seats in the S are however a complete different category. Really great.
The box of the M5 however was the biggest let-down. As an autobox it was completely jerky and superslow. In manual mode, I really don't see the point. If you want a manual, get a manual and do away with all the downsides of the electronic wizzardry that never reacts how it should.

We defo have to go out for a ride at the next meet

So no karting or survival trips ? I thought you were into your sports ! :(

The gently wafting ventilation seats are an option

I can see would could argue this one out for days but
im not going to, I think you have a a truely great car
there and what I love about mercs is the heated screenwash
reservoir's they never freeze.

Im no great driver, so Im probably not the best man
to take you out in the M5 anyway bud, Presa might be the
man for that :D

Not into sports, if I do venture out, its for a top quality meal
and a night in a top quality hotel, combined with a good session
on the champers or red wine.

So if there are any trips of that nature planned amongst the 1oc
hierachy please do let me know chaps.
