Hightower, I owned a E39 M5 aswell kept it 3 weeks = Rubbish lol

Love the look of them but it just wasnt any use.

The E60 though its a different world.

1mposter, Ive only had a quick drive of a saloon version of the new M3 the manual box is nice, however road feedback through the steering is its biggest flaw, power wise, its fast enough, but not a patch on the sheer brutality of the V10 :D That said it is a good bit better than the E46 M3 which is an already brilliant car, as you know ive had 4 of them including the csl :D

The 3.5 tdi v8 range rover sport is Luuuuvly

GTR35 8) a man after my own heart there Chris :D Its the only car i would sell my 1 for & after seeing 2 at the Autosport show yesterday it only confirmed it, i nearly did a sex wee lol.

Nice car Glen 8) as i said sounded sweet when i heard it the other day. What i like about it is it's all rounded ability, you can look all respectable if your on business then be a hooligan on the way home with the flick of a button 8)
Don't think i'll be having a play with you if i see you about not with 500hp on tap! Unless it's on the twistys

Enjoy

Gee cheers for that mate, I took my pal out in it today and its the first spirited drive its had since collection, he drives a 400bhp Evo running autronics ecu and reasonable mods.

He doesnt think the M5 would keep to the evo through the bends, and I agree, however he agree's that the M5 would leave him easily on the straights :D The power of the thing is immense, we soon figured out that the beast note and power is available from 6000 - 8200 rpm and it spins round towards 9000rpm quite happily without hitting the limiter, absolutley awesome :D

Aye you can just imagine him & a few of his similar sized mates getting out of the car & people stepping aside lol.

Might be a load of tosh but heard before the limiter only kicks in the top gear(s) so if you keep it chapping in in the gear below it'll keep going past 155, there's an experiment for you to try Bigman

Well gents, confirmation that the rumour is not true, on Milltown airfield today the car did 157mph in 4th gear and the limiter kicked in !!

The only other thing I can tell you really is that the car is Insane, as I came into the power under full throttle at 6200rpm -7000rpm in 3rd gear at over 110mph the rear wheels spun aggressivley and traction control stepped in !!!!! Yes the runway was Mildly moist though.

It seems to pull harder and harder and harder with another 3 gears to go after 155mph im in absolute awe of the machine that it is.

If you guys do anything before you die, go out and drive one PLEASE !!

8700 rpm with the V10 honestly my heart is still pounding, you gents probably think ive lost it, I havent, I just cannot believe how mad it is, you can read clarkson and autocar all you like about the M5 but it really is better than all that.

And thats coming from the man that dismissed the CSL and the E39 M5 and sold them both inside 3 weeks.

Eck, id happily take you out for a spin in it.

Bro :D Order one

Presa, NO, Ive not taken it into anymode that involves traction control going totally off, I think to use launch you basically engage full M mode, de activate Traction completley it then goes into M - Dynamic mode, and then you control the launch using the cruise control lever, basically it clicks in, then you can sit there on brake, full throttle then you just tap the lever forward and you are GONE

I used to live over the border too, In Stockethill just the other side of Long Walk Rd, went to Northfield. Infact there is a WR1 parked in the driveway of a house at the end of my folks street.

P0ESY, thank you buddy, and that is indeed great to hear, ive been following the forums and thankfully no tech issues have come to light on there either, a nice easy few years with it will do me nice.

I hear the new one will have a small compressor on it, due out in 2011 may well be worth me sticking it out until then.

Does your pal like it as much as I do ?
