No. 356 (possibly been clocked?)

Postby pete_griff » Tue Apr 03, 2007 8:47 am

got 356 about a month ago, 16k on the clock, one LADY OWNER from new!
The car is mint with full Subaru history, i'm really happy with it and will endevour to keep it as mint as possible.
It is completely standard and will definitely stay that way. The only change i've made is the speakers and they are just replacements for the OE units-so no horific cutting of any interior fittings

clocking of no. 356

Postby pete_griff » Wed Aug 29, 2007 1:10 pm

I have just had a phone call from a lad who was looking to buy the car - turns out that since I owned it the clocks have apparently been altered.

It was on 19500 approx when i sold it, and according to the bloke looking to buy the car it is now on more like 17300....

Also the tyres were nearly new when i sold it approx 2 months ago and they are apparently now in need of replacing. :?

I was also the second owner from new - actually spoke to the lady who owned it before me and she said that there shouldn't be anything to worry about with the car and she had always treated it as it should have been.

The car was mint under my ownership, apart from the rear shocks were starting to knock slightly (a common problem) - i dont know what state its in now - but from the sounds of it i wouldn't touch it with a barge pole

if anyone wants to contact me via PM to ask about the car then feel free...

But why? and tyres only lasting 2 months, looks like the car has been abused.

it would make you think along the lines that its been thrashed for the previous 2000 miles, but also as everything seems tight, eg gearbox and clutch doesnt slip, i wouldnt worry about it.

i cannot understand why you would clock 2000 miles off? its not really worth it!
