339 - with compliments from The Vatican

Postby Robin » Fri Oct 13, 2006 10:26 pm

Hi

I'm pleased to say that No. 339 is now mine, having spotted it on this very site (thanks guys!) a month ago.
It's largely standard though it does have Power Station's anti-lift kit and some awesome sounds. Currently 16k on clock.

It lives in West Wales though you might spot it in a blur on the M4 occasionally. Actually I live a couple of miles from one of the main WRC stages and have excellent "local resident" passes as a result. If anyone fancies a great viewing spot in early Dec then get in touch.

Apart from the thrilling drive the best bit about 339 is that it is part paid for by The Vatican, I kid you not. It's a long story (best shared over a pint) but basically I found myself unexpectedly doing a job for The Pope in Sep in Munich. Not one to waste God's hard-earned cash, I thought He would approve of a WR1 as my reward. And for the record, I'm absolutely not a God freak - though I'm praising the Lord for this one - this is the nearest thing I'll ever get to a religious experience! So, a WR1 part-financed by God himself - anyone got a better ownership story?

I'm always up for madcap adventures - hope to see some of you on the road soon..

Blessings,

Robin

Yes driving this is extreme enough when sober. Anyway, didn't Jesus share his wine a bit too thinly for enjoyment? Tight b@S*&Rd - wouldn't have him as a bartender!

And a Welsh visit in Dec is a must. Our usual spot is by an S-bend at the end of a half-mile straight - Solberg somehow hung on with just one wheel (had he not managed to do so there would be no WR1 at all!) back in glorious 2003.

Have a naughty weekend folks...
