131

Postby chelspeed » Thu Aug 19, 2004 11:34 am

Told my dealer I wanted one just before Xmas. Ordered formally 12 Jan after the autosport show. Picked it up 24 May. 10,000 mile service next week.....

First mod was the day after it was delivered, took the stainless steel grilles off the front and got them powder coated black, I hate chrome!! Then fitted some stuff from my last scoobie (a blobeye PPP'd STi7) AP 6 pots, DAB stereo, Origin B2.

Also fitted the optional Morette look-alike front lights and then HID'd them and the driving lights with Autolamps-on-line kits.

Edited to say it's actually 131.

They do look good. First time i've seen the front picture.

Out of interest is that a smaller than normal front number plate?

Yes..... and no.....

My reg is A1ABC style, ie old style with a single number. I just bought a standard number plate from Halfords and cut the ends off where there's just blank white. So it's legal font, legal letter size, legal spacing between letters and legal spacing between number and edge of plate. Checked DVLC webpage and this is all that is specified, doesn't mention the overall size of the plate anywhere. DVLC no plate rules are here.

So it's completely legal except that Halfords put the legally required postcode for the manufacturer and BS no one on each end and I cut them off.... So despite all this technically illegal, still very unlikely to get stopped.

I did the same with mine V5 UMO, it looks better than an overhang on each end. a bit nervey cutting the ends off though :!:

I'm happy to say that number 131 now resides on my drive. I can't stop smiling after the drive home..........can't believe how much quicker it is to the WRX!!!!
