Its with a heavy heart that we have now said goodbye by our beloved 481 for the last time.
As many of you know we bought her from new and sold her after 2 years years. Once there was no longer a need for the kids booster chairs etc we tracked her down to a guy in Brighton and managed to buy her back.
She had 40k on and was still in great condition. We have had another fun 2 years in her and kept her in tip top condition having her serviced twice and 4 oil changes in that time.
We also have had loads of work done to her and she at present really wants for nothing.
We are immigrating to Perth Western Australia early next year and we really needed a 4x4 to take with us. Cars in OZ are really expensive so we needed to take the correct car with us hence our decision.
We have part exchanged 481 for a very clean fully speced 2007 Subaru Tribeca B9 SE7 and got a great deal. (3.0 auto petrol boxer engine, goes like a bomb for a big 4x4. 245BHP. Very pleased with it.)
The dealer who has 481 now is Christopher Jackson performance cars of Cheshire. He is been fully informed as to what these cars are in regards to being limited edtions and I have given him all the WR1 limited pieces that came with the car.

Mats.
Tax Disc holder.
Petter Solberg Plaque.
Gear knob.
Original WR1 sales brochure.
Original WR1 ProDrive Certificate of power upgrade.
(Unfortunatly the other owner kept/lost the keyring).

When we dropped her of yesterday she had just turned 49k.

I have also given him an unworn Owners club coat and tee shirts to stay with the car.

I was going to do the 400 bhp conversion and take her with us to OZ. But we done a little recky tour in April and quickly realised that she was not going to be the right car out there.

Great site, great cars, and great bunch of petrol heads here. Will keep you posted on our OZ move.

Be good, dont forget...

IF IN DOUBT..FLAT OUT!

Dave

probnably one of the best reasons to part with the a car anyways mate...but a sad day none the less.

Does that mean we can now tap you up for cheaper performance bits from down under?

Possum Bourne and the Pikes Peak madman have thier own outfits down there, and aren't Hyperflow form Oz too?

Good luck with everything... lucky git.

Thanks Lads. I did look into that Gary but they only allow you one car (Value in Oz $70 max) and it costs around £4k to get it there too. Cars in Oz are very very expensive..for example BMW X5 07 plate with 70k on the clock was $68k from a forecourt and it was not in good nick either. I also saw a BMW 335i 08 plate convertable for an eye watering $138k
If I could have afforded it I would have took both a 4x4 and the 1 by sadly funds are just not there for such a luxury. Needless to say I will keep you all posted when I get bored and buy something out there.........they got some lovely V8 380bhp Holdens out there!!
