WR1 #423 - Considering purchase - any history?

Postby Arc » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:58 pm

Hi Guys,

A local dealer has WR1 #423 for sale. It's done 84750 miles and it's up for 8995. It's got a full Subaru service history until it's last service at 81000 done by some performance specialist which I now can't remember the name off  It's had two cambelt changes (the last one being on that 81000 service). The dealer says it's had 4 previous owners (and the last one was local). I've looked over it and it seems to be in excellent condition inside and out, wheels are scratch and ding free, tyres are worn evenly all over.

84000 miles means it's had *plenty* of time to be driven hard and so I'm wondering if anyone here has any history of it or knows of it?

Also, would it be worth my while getting a local specialist to look at it? I suppose I know the answer to that one

Many thanks

A

There is no reference to this car on the WR1 register which is a shame since it has had 4 previous owners.

My common thing to check for is the knocking rear suspension.

Yeah, surprised me too.. You'd think at least one would have showed up at some point. I'll read through the forum for the rear suspension stuff.

thanks.
