Now then
just got me Wr1, had her about a week
still getting used to havin a scoob again (had 3 in past and 3 evo's then moved away from the fold to more 'ordinary cars')
love the car... apart from the irratating clunk from rear end sometimes on accel or decel..... :(
but gettin the car checked out at Champions in Castleton tomorrow
got some new toyo prox's to go on on Wed when i get me alloys all tidied up
i am loving hearing that scoob burble again and feeling glued to the road
although so far I am only just starting to get eye contact with the Driver controlled Diff thingy
:P :P
so saying hello to you all

hello and welcome mate...another 1 joins up!

The rear clunck is more than likely the rear shocks...just about the only thing that is a common fault on these.

enjoy, and hope the inspection goes OK with no other nasty suprises.

thanks for the welcome
Yup and north east fella here, Stockton
as for possible £700-00 well as long as the car is put right :D
i bought it from Jason at JCT cars Rotheram
he seemed a ok fella so i will have a chat with him and see how we are gonna do it
read some reports about him on here before i bough the car and he seems a stand up guy
if not then ill use my persuasion skills

If you can afford to upgrade, have a look at exe-tc instead of the standard subaru struts as they are a weak design and will go again... a lot more expensive but from what I've heard they are the nuts!!

Hopefully its not the shocks .... I had the same clonk and it was the pads in the rear callipers rocking i.e brake and accelerate clonk and not the shocks up and down
Had them greased at my local Subaru dealer for the cost of £88 for an hours labour and all seems fine now. If you've had a scooby before the sound of the shocks going/gone is quite different.
Hope this helps !

Oh and welcome !

:D

:D Ello all
again cheers for the posts and advice
just got back from Champions and good news :)
shocks are good, the problem is the bushes front and back, massive amounts of play on them
Champions reckon between 2 - 5 hours labour depending on how easy it all goes
choice of standard STi bushes or some polyeurathane?!?!?!? spelling?!?! ones
so what you all rekon and any ideas of how much they are ?
cheers

bushes all round (wishbones, strut mounts etc...) or just on roll bars?

if all round then standard OEM are OK.

if just roll bars then I would replace the whole job lot with a Whiteline front and back with uprated bushed too.

beware though, I have heard stories of the poly ones squeeking after a while.

ello Wills did you have the WR1 on ToyTown a few years ago, i used to live in Ingleby Barwick a few years ago, i had an evo 9 in black at the time, i use to regulary see a WR1 flitting about there..
now then Caveman, its all round all round and yes i have weighed it all up and went for the squeekers (poly) i can live with a squeek more than a knock :D plus i heard they tighten things up just that little bit more
