Forester 2.5 XT

Postby chris » Thu Mar 24, 2005 8:35 pm

I know it's a Subaru, so this is really in the wrong forum, but anyway

We now have the car, picked it up this afternoon and have already put about 70 miles on it!

It's lovely, totally different beast to the WR1. Very comfortable with leather and sat-nav. The 2.5 engine seems to provide bags of low down torque. I'm still running it in but already there seems to be more mid range pull than in my old WRX.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow. :D

Right, i can tell you that the Forester has a LOT more body work than the Impreza, having just spent 3 and a half hours washing and Swissoling it.

Looks nice, I had a drive of the Forrester on a Pro Drive Live day round a short handling track, it did really well.

The one that's about 2cm wide and 10cm high with a round dimple at the base?

If it is that's the damped cupholder.

Black is the new Ice Blue Metallic!

Not much chance of that.

I'm pleased with it, although we're still running it in it feels very quick. Clearly not WR1 quick but it feels as fast as my MY02 WRX. 8)

I feel for Chris. Having said that, the XT does have some qualities and it would be something I would consider too.

Maybe you could give us a fair compare and contrast report. How life is different when living with the XT and not the WR1.

mm thats a compare...

Life with the FOrester compaered to the WR1,

Parking for starts,, kids dont come running from all corners of the earth to ask " how fast mister ?"
and just general public wanting to look at you and ADMIRE WHAT A GREAT ELITE WR1 YOU OWN - YOU MUST BE SO RICH TO OWN ONE.. etc etc .

It got to me after nearly a year of ownership :(

You need two cars ! a WR1 and a undercover car.......

I just cannot believe how much interest the WR1 has while driving it about ( past tense)
