I sold my wifes ST150 in March 2006 facelift model for £7,500 with 7k miles, full leather inside, remap via bluefin, induction kit, mint condition, perf blue. So i would say its overpriced - in March autotrader was flooded with them when the new reg plate came out otherwise id have got another 1k 8,500 for it..

hope this helps

cheers

Thanks Martin.

Very interesting to hear your valued feedback. I thought it had been too long since we had a Ford related thread FFS...

 Well you did ask.. ;)

Fiesta ST's are great track cars and for a bit of fun - I did the Prodrive day down at coventry in both Fiesta and Focus ST's which was good fun. they let you loose on the skid pan, high speed circuit, handling circuit etc..

Still, its nothing compared to the mighty WR1 of course...

Have you had chance to compare the ST with the Clio? Lets face it, the Clio seems to come very highly rated when it comes to a track weapon? I've never heard the same comments in the direction of the Ford Fiesta.

Thanks again for your valued input.

If you want a clio thats good on the track you are looking for the special editions really such as the clio cup or the clio trophy etc as these have firmer suspension, much more suited to lobbing it around roads/tracks. Ive been in both of these and they are very nice cars. The 172/182 is quicker obviously than a Fiesta ST150 but doesnt feel as solid on the ground at higher speeds. Its softer all around and designed as a road going car. The Fiesta felt "safer" and more sturdy on the road compared to the clio. Our clio also had no end of electrical issues and was swapped when it went in to the garage 9 times in one year.. having had the car from new, wasnt massively impressed but then again we may have had one of the bad ones.

If you compare the Megane Renault sport 225 to the Focus ST... Focus ST isnt designed for the track, too soft/comfy with the whole setup. Megane would eat it for breakfast. However Focus is easier to live with day to day if you dont want a numb ass...

Once again your more than welcome for my "Valued Input" ;)

Moving the subject on.... I would fit in neither the Fiesta or the Clio.

Whilst on the subject of Fords.... again.... How did you rate the RS Focus v the latest generation of Focus ST's?

I traded in a Focus RS for a diesel not long after buying the RS... What a load of toss it was IMHO.

As always, thanks for your input. XXX

I test drove both when choosing my car... Focus ST is much easier to live with day to day. It doesnt have that mad differential that randomly whips the wheel out of your hands. I do like the look of the RS, used to prefer it to the ST but the ST grew on me after about 6 months of havng it. Speed wise... the RS is a quick car. A standard RS would eat a standard ST alive. Ive had a run in with a RS 300bhp with my 305bhp map on the ST... Mine had loads more torque and top end caught up like a freight train being 2.5 ltre over 2 ltre. However we got to a roundabout and he turned and cornered far better than me. Id guess the RS is better on a track due to its stiff setup but I just prefered the feel of the ST...

Any more cars you want me to compare for you bro?

PS as for fitting into smaller cars... thats why they have windows you fool..

Yer i agree if you know how to drive it and can put up with it im sure its a decent car but i didnt gel with it. If I was after a track style car like that id certainly have gone for a Civic Type R.
