nope, reckon it could be fun though. ignore the vauxhall badge and look at the pretty impressive 0-60 figures and go get some track action :thumb:

A friend had one and really loved it. It was her company car and when she left the company, she tracked it back down and bought it back from the lease company.

It wa a woman though :?

If I could afford a track car this would be very high on the list.

It's the girlfriend thats interested swede, not me. Even she's going to have a quicker car than me too  . Going to have a look at a couple this weekend.

Bro - they do a vxr one apparantly, only a total of 60 sold, which is by all accounts a bit of a track day weapon. Stiffer suspension  , stickier tires and an extra 20bhp - nice. Sounds ££expensive though.

For the lady, sure a nice toy.

Just wondering what the advantages are over having a Lotus Elise though.

The price

For a similar age/power elise - add £10k

Obviously if money was no object youd choose the lotus, but, as ever, it is!!

10K !!

Jeezes !!

I'd have expected the Elisa to be slightly more expensive, but this is a lot.

I thought also that the Vauxhall was maybe easier to live with day-to-day and the Elise more core, so people might prefer the Vauxhall as daily driver.

I've had both .. Elise and a vx in my younger days.

When you have the vx , you try convincing yourself its a lotus with a vauxhall badge.. Unfortunatly the truth is it never is. It does miss alot of the poise of the elise and suspesion and always feels heavier but the brakes are better than the lotus. Also you have to spend alot of money to beat the vx in a straight line but imho this isnt what these cars are about.

I would reccomend to buy a used elise 111R .. It will rattle like hell but it has the toyota engine and running gear @ 190 bhp so you shouldnt have the old problems the rover K series had with the whining gearbox when the mk2 orignally came out

Hope this helps a little.
