Evo IX

Postby POESY » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:53 am

Well, it appears ive ordered a brand new white evo IX GT direct from Ralliart in Japan

Its one of the last cars off the production line before they make the changeover to start production of the X. Its a personnal import, so not a uk car, but is coming into the country via ware garages who will sva, re-map etc it for me whilst i get it registered etc.

Right, off to get some shipping quotes !!

:ok:

Why exactly the swap from your FQ400 to the Evo IX ? I didn't think your FQ400 had many miles or so.

Or did I miss any news over the last months ?

400 - 20k miles on it, nearly out of warranty, got the price i wanted and hate that crappy mitsubishi 6 speed gearbox!!

GT - May sell the car when its uk'd, may run it everyday, who knows, keeping my options open at the moment.

What happened to the AMG ??

Can't fault your reasoning though. If the value of the car is at risk of taking a dive soon and you get a good price for it...

Assume you don't plan to keep the GT standard ;)

Well its on its way :woohoo:

Changed my mind at the last minute and have gone for the IX RS instead of the GT. Added a couple of options which are usually missing from the RS, noteably aircon and electric windows but was sold on the change because its the lightest evo currently produced, has the RS limited slip rear diff, a bit more bhp - 315 to be precise - looses the GAYC, short ratio 5 speed box and to top it off was actually slightly cheaper :D

Wheels are steel, brakes arent brembo, exhaust is only 2 1/2 inch diameter, interior is non-recaro, no stereo, no central locking, no alarm, no bilstein suspension. So looks like PerformancePartsOnline have a bit of work to do

Anyone interested in a 55 reg clio trophy ??

Not on purpose no, its just the way its played out tbh.

The merc was always going to be tidyied up and sold on for a few quid. Well had to recoup some of the money lost on the 400 somehow

But I didnt realise just how in demand the rs was going to be. The offers were just too good to refuse. Has learned me how to do a personnal import, so good experience from that point of view, plus made a few good contacts. Some serious stuff over there for sale.

690bhp supra for £15k anyone?? Honestly, if you want a big bhp, big spec jap rocket then it well worth purchasing from overthere and bringing to the uk. They tend to be high quality products and serious tuning houses. Just a question of how you could get the car looked after once over here.
