VXR8 Supercharged ....with 3 yr warranty!!

Postby SPIKE LIKE MIKE » Tue Sep 04, 2007 9:13 pm

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArtic ... rs/227571/

Saw one of these "on delivery" (I assume) as it was on a low loader - colour black - actually looked very 8) in the metal.

Some nice spots and flares/vents on the front looks very menacing. - Not a big as I thought though which is a plus.

I've been looking at a VXR8 for a while but have been dissuaded on two counts so far. First, and most important to me, is the fuel consumption which will be utterly dreadful   . Second, the resale values are an unknown quantity.

However, I think this car will quickly become something of a hidden classic. Wait 6 months, pick one up, and bring it out at weekends and I don't think you'll go far wrong. I don't care if the badge says Vauxhall - the pedigree behind it is different. You get a huge amount for your money but, inevitably, it's not a scoob. Personal choice, but I have to admit it does have me thinking.. :brick:

...I must admit I'm slightly tempted by one of these!

I need to tell myself 'It's a Holden not a Vauxhall!' :P

This looks like a bit of kit spikey, liking the look.

Imagine in white, 540bhp, supercharger whinning, V8 rumbling, awesome, so much better than that bit of ford plastic youve been going on about...this appears to be an actual car, made out of metal and stuff

No really, love it, my bro had a monaro vxr and it was fantastic, this thing pushes all the right buttons for me - plans are afoot

A Monaro could well be my next car when the insurance pay out, it's high on the list if i decide to spend on a car as opposed to spending on the house.

Very nice motors these, EVO mag featured a black one this month, does remind me of the Lotus Carlton from the rear 8) 8)

New VXR8 apparently not as sweet sounding a V8 as the old monaro, needs an uprated exhaust system according to EVO 8)

I expect it would make the scoob look easy on fuel in comparison
