Prices are stupid too.

Testdrive doesn't cost anything, chris.

Had 3 V8's as rentals from Europcar in Germany (where they do a Pheaton Special rate for weekends). At first I wasn't a great fan and prefered my Merc. But after some miles, you really start to like the car.
Make sure you keep the door open when you start the V8 up. Sounds better than in any other VAG product ! :D

Also think it's at least something much more original to turn up in than your classic Audi or Beemer. It's classless and to me would give an image that you are a very self-confident person who doesn't need a badge for confirmation.

PS: There is a VERY 8) Pheaton V8 for sale at VW Stratford. 19" wheels, all the toys, 1 year old, 12000 miles and 29999 GBP...

I've had a long drive in the Touareg 3.0 TDI.

The dealer is trying to find me a 5.0 V10 to try. :D

You'll struggle finding a Phaeton (that is not a V6) as they are really rare.

Also, given the service, not all VW-dealers can do them. VW runs a special service that you always minimum get an Audi A6 V6 as courtesy car when you go for a service; if you break down, a lorry will pick up your car and give a Phaeton as replacemanent; you got a build-in concierge service throughout Europe where you can ask for a local hotel, restaurant or other to be booked for you, etcetc.

Stratford is only a good hour away from you. What are you on about ??? You need to get out more

That's some service!

Do you know if you get all that with the 2nd hand ones?

I know our dealer can do them as the old company was about to lose the VW franchise when they were taken over by a much larger company who could afford to upgrade all the facilities to sell both the Phaeton and the Touareg.

Normally, if you source your Phaeton from an official VW dealer, I assume the service still remains.
In the end, it's something the factory gave its backing to to make the Phaeton stand out compared to the 7-series or S-class.

I would be surprised that, the way they are struggling at the moment, they would not honour the service.
1. The factory already got their 70K for the car to cover the service costs from the 1-st buyer. So no reason for them not to honour the service.
2. VW will surely want to ensure the cars are seen out on the road and remain of a high standard rather than 'degrade' to badly maintained pimp cars.

True. I'm still thinking about one.

I've just returned the local dealers Impreza STi, which they very kindly let me borrow for the day after i took it out for a short test drive yesterday. I've given it a bit of a run for them.

If they happen to read this thread; PUT THE BLOODY PPP KIT ON IT!!! , it'd make a lot of difference, as standard it pulled worse than the Forester until 2500rpm.

I've definately ruled the STi out, the ride was too hard and the blue interia was :puke: and i'd have to have it redone in sonething a lot more subtle.
