Evo-scoob-RS4 ?

My other half has been offered a place to specialise in clinical genetics at the Oulu University hospital.
Upside, instead of having to go through another 6 or 7 years of hard work in the UK, she'd be a specialist in 2 years and 8 months. Which is a plus for moving to the UK afterwards as we'll be spared of all the oncall andother cr@p.
Downside, I got to stay another 3 years virtually in this country.
I 'promised' her that if we stay, she gets another scooby-type car. (OK, maybe not blue with gold wheels this time).
M6 definitely ruled out in this case.
Considering a few options:
1. Get an Evo 9 340 and let WRC or so take it to 380 or 400 bhp.
2. Get a second hand scooby (WR1?) and spend some more on mod'ing to get it to similar performance.
3. Get an Audi RS4.
Any thoughts, other ideas ?
Spec C still under consideration. Although I was not a big fan of the very loud exhaust at low speeds (notreally something to 'fly under the radar' with).
Although I like the Subaru and the friendly owners, the Evo has a plus because of its diffs (scoob will have to be 2005 or WR1 hence) and space in the back.
I was also wondering whether it is worth spending the extra on an Evo 340 vs 300 or on a more powerfull Impreza vs a standard STi if I am going to modify it anyway. Are the more powerful versions of these cars cheaper to tune to 350/380 bhp ?
