Shouldn't be expensive in parts. It's two box standard blowers.

The downside is that I remember the enginebay is pretty full.

Was more wondering about upgrading the turbos?

Standard turbos are expensive too!

What do you wanna do with a Nissan 300ZX btw ?

If you want a fun thing to tune, I'd look at a last generation Supra.

I know someone with a 300ZX - while its not really my cup of tea he has had it a number of years and it seems very reliable and was quicker than i'd expected, despite being only mildly modded - so i'll ask him at the weekend if he can offer any details.

I believe a company called Benchsound look after his car - judging by how reliable it is and how well it goes I guess he would recommend them, I'll check though.
I've used a company called Essex Turbos before to rebuild a standard unit (on an evo 6) up to roller bearing spec - excellent work and because you use the OME turbo all the OME pipes, manifolds etc can be re-used thus keeping costs down. Having uprated the turbo meant it could take slightly higher boost and suffered no increase in lagg. Possible route for your bro ?

Yep, info sounds good. Going to forward a link to my Bro. He may even come on and ask a few more questions.

Cheers,
Stu

I'm looking to upgrade the turbo's, probably cheaper! I've had 360 degree thrust bearing turbo's suggested. What do people suggest? The Z is running at about 12psi at the moment, could go up to about 15 in current state give or take the auto gearbox!

Autobox should be able to keep with some more boost.

Well the auto gearboxes are renowned for being the weak link, fortunately mine is UK and has an oil cooler but I'm convinced newer more powerful turbo's will be its downfall, but hey I'll get a new gearbox!

Yampiedog let me explain. Torrekens is a resident foreigner on this site. He tends to know a little about cars but you have to translate his English as though it came out of a 3 year olds mouth. Bless him, he does try!

I have now spoke to someone who suggests Greddy turbo's but I will require 555 injectors.

Do the turbos re-use the same pipes/manifold etc ? Be carfully cos if not all this stuff adds up. Next question is can your intercooler provide enough air to flow over 400 bhp - only ask as the evo ones need uprated once you get up to this sort of level, again this can be pricey.
I had my standard turbo on my 6 converted to roller bearing by essex turbos - boost went from 1.2 to 1.45 bar, power 280 - 325bhp (installed an exhaust system + induction kit at the same time). Had to also install a stronger feul pump and have the car re-mapped for the new set up. Costs were something like

Yeah, I'm keeping my eye on the extra's that appear to be required. Cheers.
