I'm tempted...

Should I ?

Not many cars with a compressor AND a turbo around

Sorry, tend to forget you guys aren't doing any other languages.

Basically a 5400km Delta S4, which was a group B special "thing" (i.e. an alu frame with a kevlar body around looking vaguely like a car).

Weighs somewhere around 1000kg, has a 1800cc engine with a compressor and a turbo. Pushing out 286bhp officially, although that is a very low estimate. Some minor tweaks get it to 500bhp.

Not a car for kids. Handles like a pig and when it goes wrong, there's not much that will stop the fueltank on which you are sitting to hit the tree you decided take down (and subsequently barbecue).

Sorry Bro, the log-in messed up again.

I think the discussion about RHD or LHD is pointless anyway. I all depends what you are used to. I had a lot of trouble going really fast with a RHD in the beginning and I still don't throw it around with the same confidence.

The main thing is that I have the tendency to make to many movements from and to the gearlever whereas in LHD, I just leave the right hand on the gears unless the left one needs some help. Normally only the left hand steers when I do road that requires many gearchanges.

Still, this Lancia is an awesome machine. Good for trashing FQ400's ;)

Probably would. I guy at the car mag' I worked for in Belgium several years ago drove the S4. He said it was the most dangerous thing he's ever driven. You couldn't drive that car. If your name was not Henri Toivonen, the car drove you and you just tried to survive.

Improved handling and diffs would probably make a WR1 not much slower on a rally than an old group B.
The Peugeot 306 Kit Car (2WD, 280bhp) basically improved the 205 t16's (500bhp and 4WD) stage times in Corsica.
