I was just wondering. Did anybody ever hear if Jaguar finally is contemplating bringing an R version of the X-type ?

They been talking about it in the beginning. But I lost touch since I left the UK.

There isn't a X-type R currently available.

I think I guessed that bit myself too.

I was just wondering whether there are any Jaguar drivers on here who'd been getting inside info from their dealers.

Considered a 3.0 X-type when we got the scoob. Like the car but didn't take it as it would have turned out to be doing everything my S-class does, just not so well. In which case I would never have used it at weekends. (and the closest dealer in Finland is at 200 miles from Vaasa)
Might still consider one when the lease is over on the STi (I'm gonna have a hard time getting my wife to get another one...), but then I want 100 horses more than that 3.0 V6.

Other alternative would be a Volvo S60 or V70 R.

What you need to do is put the wife in an Evo and then she will demand her Scooby back.... Do you really get the say on the cars or does the wife earn the dollar and tell you what you WILL be driving.

Always been earning a few times what the wife earned, eventhough she now works as a specialist neurologist.

=> I always pay the cars => I choose. (plus, she's not interested AT ALL in cars).

It's just that for the scoob, she saw it as me saying ":2: , I earn the money, I decide what we drive, even if you don't like it".

I bet she'd be OK with a silver Evo with black interior and grey alloys, just on the basis that she wouldn't get what the car stands for under the skin...

If I'd had a WR1, she'd never have made the Tommi Makinen-connection and I'd never hear her complain.
