Aston Martin DB7
1995, 3.2litre supercharged engine
Stunning, 2 Doors, Automatic, Coupe, Petrol, 55,000 miles, Metallic Silver. Alarm, Drivers airbag, Alloy wheels, Immobiliser, Passenger airbag, 10 disc CD changer, heated seats, electrically adjustable drivers seat, grey/blue leather interior.
Generally thought to be the best looking car ever made.
Great investment as soon to be a classic.
£23k... good or bad?

Certainly a stunning looking car that's for sure, don't really know about prices, this is worth a read though...

OK 2 points..
1 - Firstly you hate all things Ford and this is a blue oval, albeit a good looking one.
2 - you were having a go at Swede for fantasizing!!
pot, kettle and black spring to mind!
I would say, great looking car but lacking in performance for sure. Still under Ford ownership back then so expect lots of Focus/Mondeo switchgear too...lovely!!
The Jag came later and was a bit better inside.

If I was looking for a DB7 I think I would spend 3 or 4 thousand more and get the V12 version. Much better engine and sets it a bit above the XK8.
Mind you with £23k right now I think I would be looking at an Exige S but that is just me.

OK 2 responses
1 - I think you have "extrapolated" some of the things I have said in the past. Not all fords. Just MOST.
2 - I am not fantasising, it was an advert I saw posted at work and thought it seemed a lot of car for the money. Since I've not got the funds to run such a car I wouldn't go kicking the tyre or singing the big "I am" on a forecourt with no intention of buying... just like the Stickman.
Anymore points that you need me to correct then please fire away?

Good price for the car but be under no illusion that it is quick. It is a fast comfortable cruiser, not in the same league as any subaru in my opinion. I think my father in laws is a 3.2 330bhp but given the size and weight it feels like a pokey 2ltre beema or merc equivalent. To look at though the DB7 is lovely though... his is also automatic so that doesnt help...

Cars do not have to be quick, sometimes it is about how they get there and how they make you feel.

OK, this car looks great, sounds great, but it's a really dissappointing drive.

TBH i just dont get the aston martin thing that everyone keeps banging on about!!
They look plain and crap, nowhere near the top of their class dynamically when they are new and seem to just get worse with age - why would you waste you money??!!
Err, so, to clarify, thats a no from me

Even the new V8 aston's not brilliant in my book, however id still take one over a 911, if you recall though gents, the isle of man test, v8 Vantage v 911 v M6 !
911 cleaned up thanks to ceramic brake option,. Vantage looked the best, but the M6 was clarksons choice, he's the man when it comes to choosing class, some of his all time favorites are CSL, M5, M6 a man after my own germanic heart, take heed bro
