Focus ST Lakedistrict 2009 Run Pics (Lots of pics beware)

Postby Megaman » Sun Apr 26, 2009 10:59 pm

Here are some pics from todays lake district run. We set off from Devils Bridge and headed up to windermere... went round the lake to ambleside for a couple of hours stop for a bite to eat. We picked up an RS4 and a Renault Megane Sport on the way... we carried on round the lake to bowness and parked up for some more ice cream and drinks. Then headed home after a good day out - weather held off for us which was great.

White one looks OK, I guess. Are the wheels bigger on that one?

Yes the white one has 20" wheels on. You need to buy bigger alloys in order to fit any third party brake kits under them. The standard 18" wheels are too tighter squeeze.

Bad news about the 20" wheels is that they are really easy to burst via potholes compared to 18" wheels.

Also if you look at the grey ST pic with the new focus RS bonnett air vent grills on it you will notice he has stuck a splitter on the front of the car. He's run over it twice as its clipped speed humps and knocked it slightly off which has then meant its got sucked under the car at higher speeds and ripped off.

20inch wheels on a Bord Pocus looks stupid. Tell him to get a Hummer FFS.

Great photos Mega, looks like you had a good day out!! Is yours the BX07 one or AE07 one?

How did the Megane and RS4 fair?

 The ST is a very FUN car but in a different league to a subaru. Much more tame and laid back, comfy for longer journeys etc. Cheap to mod and cheap to repair :)

Neither mine looks standard apart from the exhaust system as i like the element of surprise and shock on peoples faces as they expect to piss past and dont...

The Megane was a nice car, didnt have the power on the straights but on the twistys looked very planted and was up the car in fronts back side. Ive always like the megane sports and would if i had the money use one as a dedicated track car.

The RS4 is the same one that came on another meet that i raced in the WR1 and had some fun with. Easily kept up with the ST's although he did mention he had since got something from MTM to help it go a bit better but he didnt say what... he wanted a rematch with my scoob anyway the cheeky git.. probably up to 500bhp by now or something daft lol.

Standard Scooby is no match for a RS4... Both on the road or class bracket. I can't believe one even tagged along with the Ford brigade... One must only assume he is a nerd with no friends?

Some of the pics look like a line up you could find in any Tesco car park any day of the week :D
