As you said, slightly tuned.

I have an Evo and I have seen Evo's that do 0-60 in less than 3 secs and have 1000 bhp...

By definition, my Evo is the fastest car...

Makes sense, doesn't it, as a reasoning.

Get your head out of the pot of amphetamines !

BMW speedo's are very accurate.

I drove a 330 for a week in December in Germany. 245 on speedo was 220kph...

Or how BMW wants to ensure their drivers think they drive a fast car.

The Swede wrote:There are a few bits and pieces missing here, presa. If you do a data round, make sure you don't miss out pieces or your whole analysis, however correct it is otherwise, will have zero credibility.

In this list, you should have all the other cars that have a speed limiter and how fast they are when derestricted.

For starters, if you follow this logic, the Merc SL65 will be up there above the M5. Same goes with the RS6 Audi and few other German 'cruisers' with more than 500 bhp.

Also... I find it hard to believe that a standard M5 derestricted would go 330km/h. Given it 'only' has 500bhp and the aerodynamics are not in its favour (cx is OK but it has a much larger front surface), this just does not look realistic when I compare it with much more powerful sportscars.

A 911 GT2 for instance is half as big, has much more power and doesn't go as fast???

:?

You really are naive.

Yep I agree this list is a strange one, completely floored as you say, just wanted to drop something else in to keep people biting

It is also very dependant on their gearing, I would suggest that cars like the 997 GT2 are geared more for acceleration rather than top speed in a similar way to EVO's and Scoobs.

Some also have a very long top gear for fuel economy reasons.

The list is floored though because the top speed for the Z06 is out by 10mph anyway, so there are probably plenty of other inaccuracies, and as you say you can't put the M5 in fully derestricted

Incidentally can any of these cars be ordered with a higher limit, because you can order an 'M Driver's Package' which moves the limiter to 305kph on the M5

And Top Gear recon that all the :wank: are out of BMs and are now driving Audis

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!

Anyway, very, very  now. I think it has been proven clearly that the M5 is the best car you can physically buy, despite its relatively puny torque figure compaired with the force inducted mercs, audi...and even vauxhalls of this world

Would now be a bad time to mention how quickly the mighty BM goes round the 'ring compaired with my weedy new renault megane :toofunny:

There we go, that should keep things boiling a bit longer

Some more interesting stats, can't see the FQ400 in there or Renault 'does my bum look big in this' megane

If you ask me a lap time of 7 min 52s for the M5 is unbelievable for a lardy german saloon car 8)

Yup, it should have started - do BMW do a 500bhp 5 series cos my mate has a black one and he recons its the fastest car in the world ever, whereas me I recon it looks like a diesel - is it possible to tell the difference

Tell you what though, after all this fuss, i'm deffo going to nip round my mates this weekend and ask for a run in his car again, just to refresh myself with what its like 8)

...cos the lbft aint all that really

Infact, is the M5 really the most powerful 5 series even, i'm sure the superduper diesels probably produce more lbft

What a reliable sample.

Some conclusions:

1. A Radical or Westfield goes faster than the mighty M5. Buy British, you twats !

2. If you want to look like a City pr@t anyway and drive a beemer, buy an M3 CSL, not a lardy M5.

3. 4 cilinders weigh 398kg !

4. An oldy like an XJ220 goes faster than the mighty City machine.

5. Most important: Make sure you got the right driver in your car...
Suggest Mrs Presa hangs on to M5 and swaps presa then.

1. A Radical or Westfield goes faster than the mighty M5. Buy British, you twats ! (these are track cars?????)

2. If you want to look like a City pr@t anyway and drive a beemer, buy an M3 CSL, not a lardy M5. (CSL isn't a luxury car)

3. 4 cilinders weigh 398kg !

4. An oldy like an XJ220 goes faster than the mighty City machine. (this is a supercar????_)

5. Most important: Make sure you got the right driver in your car... (as I said in my post!!)

:blahblah: I wasn't using this information as a comparison, more to show that the M5 isn't the lardy piece of sh1t you lot recon....

At the end of the day who gives a sh1t, it won't be seeing a track it was bought as a big solid luxury car that can also be a more entertaining performance car when it wants to be, i.e. what it was built for.

No-one said its the fastest thing in the world so you lot just need to get over it

Why did you cut out the most important sentence of my post ?

Suggest Mrs Presa hangs on to M5 and swaps presa then.

No need she knows when she's on to a good thing

Tell you what though, after all this fuss, i'm deffo going to nip round my mates this weekend and ask for a run in his car again, just to refresh myself with what its like 8)

I'm sure presa will let you take it out for a good blast, just to convince you he's right.

What time works on Sunday, presa ? I'm rather busy on Saturday, so.

Right about what :?

Obviously Ive owned the might CSL, another epic car, Im quite amazed though that it beat the E60 M6 round the ring, it must be its slight edge on handling.

I noticed there was an evo on your list presa, but it was well down near the bottom  Im sure the norris evo would manage a quick time, but then whats the chances of it making it round without melting a piston

Id love a spin round the ring with sabine 8) 8)

Stop beating around the bush and tell us where we come on Sunday and what time so we can take your M5 for a blast.

No need to upset mrs presa if you need to help her with cleaning the shoes closet or ironing the socks. Poesy and I can just pick up the car and take it for a drive by ourselves.

I'd love to go for a spin with her, but don't think the Ring would be the place of choice

I'm surprised once you sit in that seat anything else could still fit in it!

Funnily enough, the active M seats, you know the bolsters move holding you into the corners etc, they grip like nothing on earth, they actually exert such force the girfriend started feeling sick, and turned hers off

Yeah, had the same problem in mine.

Most funny anecdote however was driving back from a meeting with some colleagues in the car last week.

Front passenger to rear passenger: " Do you have enough space?"

Rear passenger: "Yup, no problem".

Few minutes later

Front passenger: "Sue, are you sure you got enough space ???".

Rear passenger: "Yeah, I got plenty of space !".

At which moment the guy at the front turns around and goes

Then turns to me and goes: "Are these seats moving ??!".

"Yup".

"Shoot ! I thought that Sue was pushing into my seat with her knees in ever corner !".
