Help...suggestions on new "2 wheels" the time has

Postby SPIKE LIKE MIKE » Wed Oct 08, 2008 8:57 pm

Looking for a new BMX.....

really liking the Triumph Daytona and Ducati 998.........

I will be booking the bike test VERY Shortly and hoping on a 2 wheel ride to "oblivion" or "Buzz"

Will be speaking with Marky VERY shortly for advise on which one is least likely to hurt me

The car scene has been done albeit there is a new one on the horizon 8) and i have always promised myself a motorbike,,,

Suggestions other than "dont do it you will die"

I am waiting by my phone, penis in hand.

I think you really need the bike that is most likely to kill you. Turbocharged Busa fitted with Avon Speedmasters, something like that.

It's like this Marky,

i have tried nearly everything that can kill me and soem things i didnt want to try.....STILL HERE!!!

A 13.5" wall would create a "barrier" as would other motor vehicles...nothing is "impassable" and i am feeling rather reckless/invincible at the moment

There are NO BARRIERS only routes around or through :D

On a serious note though only wanna go to 1000cc!! Can i do that on a 3day crash course?

Yes of course you can.

Honestly mate, having a big bore sports bike first off is asking for it. I don't think you will get insured for it anyway.

I know where you are coming from wanting a blade / R1 / ZX10 but please just spend 1 summer on something a bit smaller, not as powerful, and not as nervous.

600 class nakeds are great fun and ideal for a first bike, 675 street triple Triumph is the acknowledged class leader, but there is plenty of other good stuff around.

Does the CBT restrict bike size?

If you have never ridden a bike before you will have to do compulsory basic training. This is not your test at all.

Your direct access will give you a full licence. I'm not the person to ask about tests and all the rules / regs, i took my test when i was 17 which was a long time ago!

You are more than welcome any time. My bike is a big old brute and 1050cc so not the easiest thing to learn to ride on though.

on CBT your restricted to 125cc. id personally suggest getting a Cagiva Mito 125.. i know its not as powerful as big bikes and its still like a moped slightly and you might get 17year olds with acne trying to race you doing 40mph lol but the cagiva mito is quite fast for a 125 so i hear. can still hit 100mph if you really want it to. oh and with CBT you cant go to leicester unless you use local roads because your not allowed on the motorway lol. and you have to get big " L " badges on the front and back untill you get your real license

you will be in my prayers tonight lol. good luck with the test n all n im sure you heard this before but take it easy. i had my CBT on a little 50cc moped restricted to 30mph lol yet at least once every two weeks i would fall off and crash something. the last crash wrote the bike off.. doing about 35 ( yes down a hill lol ) and hit a pothole.. smashed the bike into pieces literally.. i was injured too but if id have been going faster who knows..

Rumor has it the are what the "Jeep Wrangler" is to teh "queer" community

Really fancied a "Daytona" TBH but with £500 and 0% finance on a R6 -
I cant go wrong.

Currently in talks to do a deal where they pay for my test and 1 years free insurance and I buy the bike off them 8)

For once I have to agree with mongral mark....

If your serious go for a 600, even though it's not about how good you are, it's all about reading every other numpty on the road who WILL pull out on you at junctions etc ! Which will send to to a early grave, because you are riding a bike you will be judged to have been riding like a lunatic and had it coming

My better advice would be stick to 4 wheels !

To cut a long story short, It kept over heating to the point were if he went any thing over 20 miles he had to pull over and wait for it to cool down. He took it back a number of times they told him its the coolant and said its nothing to worry about just top it up. So they sold him some. Again the same happened so he brought some more. It got so bad he had to take a bottle of coolant when eva he went on a long ish journey. He lives in plymouth and i am in exeter and sure enough it happened when he came mine. Any way this went on for months until he went back again when the warranty had ran out and they said the head gasket had gone
They had it for allot longer than it takes to change the head gasket because they encountered a problem and didn't know what to do so had to wait until they were told by head office triumph. I would have to ask him wat it was as i have forgotten. When he finally got it back the rear shocks made a funny noise and he cant find out why.

Well there you go, having said all that its a very good looking bike and rides nice too

Make you wonder how Triumph survived.

Stick with Jap crap Spike, R6, CBR600, ZX6 or a GSXR600, you or i would not be able o notice a performance diffrence in either, just find the one you are most like !
