Dear All,
I know Jaycee plugged the Tom Tom Go a while ago but do people have thoughts on any other Sat Nav systems. Ideally I would like something that sticks to the windscreen with suckers negating the need the Black and Decker the dashboard and can thus be easily transferable to other cars. The main limitation I believe with the Tom Tom is that you can't enter postcodes.
Any thoughts/opinions and stupid comments would be appreciated.

before i bought the said Tom Tom i used HP - Compaq PDAs with the GPS sleeve, I just got fed up with the PDAs locking up/ or when you are in a important trip , informing you that you have a apointment in 15 mins, and messing up the sat nav programme. This is why i bought the Tom Tom, it plug and play and very quick at updating and finding itself. Garmin make some great ones as wel this one below.. is nearly a grand. every one in the world is here... http://www.expansys.com/d_gps.asp

TomTom sticks to the window and uses postcodes.

Really, I don't know where my info comes from then but I was sure it didn't use postcodes.
What is the latest competitive price you sell them for?

Royal Mail use post codes too, and look how many mistakes they make Was a bloke in court a few months ago, coming to a place near York, entered the name and away he went, as he approached Blackpool he realised something was wrong, looked at the atlas and found there was 2 places with the same name, whilst trying to get back on time for his appointment - you guessed it - he was caught speeding, At least that is the excuse he used D3ave

That is funny but you'd have to be a "turbo short of a Impreze" to not have a vague idea of where you were going without even thinking about it.

Tom Tom does not used post codes !! not properly anyway ... it'll allow you to enter the first 4 digits ie. lu2 8 ... but does not use the last 2 digits ... this is to avoid paying Royal Mail a licensing fee for using their postcode database

I've used a Garmin GPSV for years. Just ordered a Garmin Quest for the colour screen. The GPSV is a fantastic bit of kit. Really nice to use, I'm a big fan.

Question for Jaycee or anyone with Tom Tom Go: Is it possible to get map updates for new roads or pedestrianised roads (boo-hiss) over time?
I've checked the Tom Tom site and can see there are software updates but these don't look like they're for map details, purely bugs or enhancements.

No idea about Tom Tom but Garmin do, about once a year.
The latest one is a free update for me as I bought the Quest just before the update was issued so they do you a free upgrade, what a great company!

Sounds about right otherwise the product would become useless. Hopefully Tom Tom offer a similar thing. I've looked at a few products but find myself coming back to Tom Tom Go. I found a site that sells it for
