Gary Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov were sitting near the door of a hotel trying to outdo each other with tales of their tactical prowess, people thought there was going to be a fight but it was just Chess nuts boasting in an open foyer

I know puns are probably the lowest form of humour (with sarcasm being the highest of course) but it reminds me of this man who entered a local paper's pun contest. He sent in ten different puns, in the hope that at least one of the puns would win. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
