Gambling.

Postby jaycee » Sat Oct 16, 2004 4:41 pm

Does anybody on here gamble?
I have quite an addictive personality so try and avoid it now.
I used to love going to the casino and playing Blackjack or the wheel.
I've dabbled on the on-line casinos and had some good results but deleted the programmes to stop me wasting ALL of my money!!

It seems, as a society, we're are encouraged much more than before to gamble. Especially with the advent of the lottery.

Discuss!!

Edited cos the mis-spelt title was bugging me!

I thought you were like the rest of us and wasted all your money on the Scooby!

I have a Skybet account. I've won a fair bit  betting on the F1 in past seasons but then all the odds got too short so i stopped!
I think the last bet i placed was about a year ago.

I have dabbled on the on line casinos but never with more than a fiver a time as i don't trust them!

There's a guy we know via work who used to own a sandwich shop and his own flat. He lost the lot gambling

The saddest thing is that even when he was sleeping rough we'd still see him going into the bookies with what little money he could scrape together.

well theres gambling and theres GAMBLING ....

playing the stock market is just as dodgy (and addictive) as any other type of gambling ... and while you're making money its fantastic ... you can start to think you're going to have a practically unlimited income for the rest of your life ... but I lost about 28k in 2001 when the tech bubble burst

have stuck to more traditional companies since (abbey, diageo, man utd) and made a fair bit back but I've been much more sensible ... as with everything in my life, you live and learn

I do love a good evenings poker (texas holdem) ... but only with my mates, I've banned myself from any online poker sites ... I just don't trust myself and its become much more popular over the last few years ... theres a lot more decent players out there making a living out of it than there used to be

According to some people on another forum, you're gonna lose that amount on the WR1!

Glad to see ignorance is in abundance!
