WR1 Owners Club

Hi all I'm currently looking to purchase a wr1 the car i am looking at is number 490, i am a bit concerned as the car has had a 5 speed p1 gearbox and diff fitted,also the car has had a respray for some reason,why would the original 6 speed gearbox be changed out for a 5 speed seems like a backward step to me??any info on the car or issues I've raised would be very grateful,also looking at the mot history it was motd in 2012 then no mot till 2016 so was of the road for 4 years,
this again is a possible concern,thanks for any advice an help in advance.

From what you have described my first reaction would be to walk! If it is a genuine WR1 I don't have a clue why someone would change the gearbox to 5 speed along with other bits.

I did find this in the archives on here as well- does the registration plates tie up with the one you are describing?

Avoid this car, it's a dog, been repossess and all decent parts were stripped off of it, its well known amongst owners
