Changing Tyre Brand

Postby Gary75 » Fri Apr 04, 2014 1:55 pm

Been running on Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, covered approx 2000 miles since fitting. Im looking to change to Michelin Super Sport as the Potenza doesnt really inspire confindence at speed. Ive always fitted Michelins to all my cars in the past but due to the fact the WR came with Potenza's, I fitted a second brand new set.....:tosser:

The Michelin gets top marks for dry grip, wet, road feedback etc, the Potenza on the other hand dosen't score near the super sport.

Anyone running on the Michelin super sport or have any opinions on the subject? Other than i'll have the Potenzas when you change over tyres :D

Yes, but when i bought mine the car was shod with Potenza RE050. The Pirelli and Bridgestone about the same performance, so wouldnt touch the Pirelli :shake:

The Bridgestone Potenza RE070 was fitted to the Subaru WRX STI as standard, this tyre out performs the Michelin's dry grip, only by 2%. Overall the Michelin is a better tyre on paper than Bridgstone and the Pirelli. The RE070 though is another possible choice?

Personally I like the Eagle F1, used them for a few years on my Impreza Type R, and run them now on my WR1.

Agreed.

I have just bought some Eagle F1 asymmetric 2s, and am very happy with them.
