Re: CAMBELT CHANGEHi Buffy.
Was it main dealer who done it? Did that include a new tensioner Thanks
Re: CAMBELT CHANGENo not main dealers it was cp autos & it was belt and tensioners:-) mind you that was all in with a full service updated fuel pump & remap so maybe that's why it was at that price :-D:-D don't have the car know so I can't look back at reciepts sorry

Re: CAMBELT CHANGE
Powerstation in Tewkesbury are Subaru specialists. About 80 plus miles from you. http://www.powerstation.org.uk/
Re: CAMBELT CHANGEDealer cost for tensioner sounds about right
can supply a full kit (t/belt, 2x plain pulleys, 1x toothed pulley & tensioner) including the extra idler pulley for just over £200inc.................... if your local we fit for £325inc. (can be a lot cheaper as the tensioner/idlers are on an "inspection" basis and often are perfect ASPerformance

Re: CAMBELT CHANGEas performance- They did say that the tensioner may be ok and may not need it but I wont know and still get charged for it.
Do you think this will be ok at 20000 miles? Thanks Jamie

Re: CAMBELT CHANGEhi james I use three arches garage in llanishen top Subaru specialist and top guys http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... xLmDCGYLbg
Re: CAMBELT CHANGEI would fit the lot as a matter of course using genuine items, If that belt snaps or tensionor fails? the pistons will make love to all 16 valves and your pockets will be truely empty forever.......... you will also cry like a baby
Re: CAMBELT CHANGE
Talking from experience??
Re: CAMBELT CHANGE
Not me, just horror stories you here when belts fail, plastic pulley wheels disintegrate . But if mine were to fail??? Yes I would definatly cry like a baby
Re: CAMBELT CHANGESound advice that, If you have it stripped out anyway why not replace the tensioner too, I had it all replaced and the water pump as it had done 46,000, You cant be too careful when you are asking that much power from it all of the time
Nobody told me it was this brutal !
Re: CAMBELT CHANGE
internet myth as there are NO plastic idler pulleys on a SUBARU.......... a lot of this "scare mongering" i believe is because people are coming from VW/AUdi, etc. which DO have massive idelr pulley/water pump issues have done Subaru's for 15yrs or so now and never had any problems ASPerformance
