Meetings

Postby Gary75 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:59 pm

Does the club have any monthly meetings organised for 1 owners to meet during the summer months?
I used to be a member of previous club and the meeting place was Donnington Park servcices for the Midlands meets. Spent a couple of hours chatting with coffee of course, was a good turn out toooo....

I think there might have been a fish and chip meet in Leeds one time? I'd be happy to have a gathering tho...

Yes would be nice to meet fellow owners, swap info etc. Would need to sort areas to meet ie Northern area, midlands area, southern area etc.
As i recall the Donnington services had a scooby meeting on the same day we were there, some nice machines rolled up. The police were also having a good chat with owners, all was very relaxed. The police were just passing through and not to concrned with what we were doing?
All that remains is who is interested?? need to start a list.

Hi Gary, can I assume you are a new owner. There was supposed to be some sort of meet in the Hinckley area a few or so ago. However it never came to fruition.I will have a chat with a couple of guys in this area and get something arranged. It will only be a 20 min drive for you.

Maybe we need to get regional reps who can arrange the meets throughout the year?

Hi Mega..... & Gary.

Regional Reps is exactly what my other club have done. JPOC have a couple but they're working to get Jap car enthusiasts together in their areas which is far easier than getting us lot together in any one area as there's FAR less of us !
Gary, with you in Brum, Conway up the road in Cannock area, me 14 miles south in Kidder, Carl in Cov and Devious Detailing from W-ton, we REALLY should be able to get together, maybe at Central Subaru in Willenhall. Daz, the owner is re-building a WR1 himself and has a workshop where we could all meet PLUS any other ONE owners of course who'd like to meet in this area.
Following your pm, I've sent you some details.

Yes, closer than Donnington Services and at an established Subaru Garage. Have my oil and brake fluid changed at the same time

We have a "Leeds Branch meeting" every 2 months (give or take...)

WR!Owner pops over from Bradistan
Mega pops (no pun intended) over from Guiseley
Bro pops (pun intended) over from Manc (tossers) land
Danny Boy minces up from Brighton (or somewhere darn sarf)
Caveman has popped over from Sweeden
and I steal a car from scouseland and another on the way home....

Only 2 of us actually own a WR1

Welcome to pop up for a whale and chips at Harry Ramsdens lads.

Try Middlesbrough used to be the car theft capital of UK and probably still is, stop at lights and your wheels would be gone!!! quicker than an F1 team could change the wheels on F1 CAR

It's actually in Guiseley mate, we've had a few meets there with 3 WR1's, a 500bhp hawkeye, Dan's M3 CSL and Bro's GTR... No trouble! It'll be fine!! If you've ever seen the size of Bro you'll know. Just look out of the window at night and you'll see his arse in the sky. It's the bright, white round thing.

Is there a high incidence of theft/crime down there?
