I was offered tickets but I knew I would come back with a receipt for a deposit paid against a car.

It could be an expensive day out!

Not sure you could cope with a Focus mate, they torque steer once tweaked even with their "revo-knuckle"

got it in 1!!

but doing the full build at home myself...so playing with the idea of just putting the standard WR1 engine with the Solaris ECU into it...with a sequential add on though.

then getting a new engine for the WR1..

ummmm toys!

That'll be awesome, I have the brochures at home, but trying to convince the missus that we need a 3-seat kit car with no roof is not going well...

Scoobybits ( check out there facebook) builds them, they were after ours when engine blew up for the box diff etc !

Visited them frequently over the last 18 months as they built it from scratch, iirc they have a RCM spec 2.0 with RCM 400turbo 8)

It does yes, but seeing as I got rid of the Atom just before October last year I need a replacement on the cheaper side of 40k

This kinda floats both boats...Atom-ish looks - although I will probably get some new GRP panels made up as the styling is a bit rough right now.

Also has scooby power, with easy access.

Doesn't weigh much so won't need that much power for it to be just as fun as the Atom was - and as looney. But with potential for more with any scooby lump then this could get quite silly, quite fast!

Ive driven an atom a couple of times for these 4 lap experience days, still the fastest thing on a track ive ever driven and a hell of a lot of fun. Cant believe the amount of grip on the corners and acceleration these things have compared to other super cars. The only thing that caught up on the straights was the 911 GT2 but they were far slower in the corners. If these things handle like an atom then they will be a great little motor. I do think for what you get the atom is overpriced especially since they are normally a "weekend toy" even old ones are mid to late 30's.

exactly...with the bonus of a central driving seat, an extra passenger seat you can safely build one of these for about 15k..maybe cheaper if you get a donor car for silly money.

early days yet...still have to paint garage floor and get all the boarding up to hang the tools from in preperation!

yep...

kinda brakes down like this

Kit Pack A (chassis) = 4K
Kit Pack B (brakes & Suspension) = 2.5k
Kit Pack C (Steering) = 600 notes
Kit Pack D (Pedal Box, brakes lines etc..) = 700 notes

This gives you a rolling chassis at just a smidge over 7.8k (actually a bit cheaper if you buy all in one order).

Then you have
Kit Pack E (Body Panels and seat mouldings) = 1.5k
Kit Pack F (Lighting and Mirrors) = 1k

and all the custom engineering work like
Gear Linkage kit, 2wd conversion kit, custom driveshafts, fuel tank etc...

I am sure all my little extra's will add up - braided hoses, lightweight fittings, colour coded bits n bobs...plus the million tie wraps I will get through along with the several thousand digestives (only the caramel ones though!)..

Pretty darn cheap for a modern kit car, and a pretty decent one at that by all accounts. Be interested to see what you make of it if you see some at the show. Never actaully seen one or driven one! Just pics and vids.

The Murtaya was also a scoobybits kit build, pretty sure the demo one they had whipped the atom, and so what they tell me the storm is better than the murtaya.

8) and a lot cheaper

just can't get along with the looks of the Murtaya...nasty kit car plastic crappy lines.

It was either a Cobra with crate V8 and jag running gear, or the Storm.

Yer when I watched the show he broke the gearbox in a car and nearly every round of cars had at least 1 breakdown which had to be pushed off track lol

WR3 looks nice though :)
