Alright, it needs a service and the 4wd light is on, but even a mint one can be had for 35k

What would YOU have? :?

that seems "too cheap", probably has knackered the diff or something for 4wd light to be on, sounds expensive to fix.

Thats sort of my point, a genuine working one can be had for £35k, that's a lot of car for Impreza money. Probably more economical too

Yes, but if I bought a 35k GT-R, I'd end up with a GT-R  (which is a good thing)

The two cars mentioned are very different. Running a used GTR is going to cost a lot more than running a new 320R but I guess that is stating the obvious? Tyres and servicing are going to be the big costs. Fuel and insurance I have found little difference.

How frequently do you have to service the GTR and how much is a typical service?

Any thoughts on the ISF chaps?

Just found one for 23K and think it's pretty darn tidy and a little different.

I think the early ones are every 6 months or 9k miles. The Enhanced GT-R (2011 model) is yearly or 9k miles I believe!?!

Regards the price of a service I do not know. I opted for a 3 year service plan which was too good to not take up. This plan was only available for 2011 cars as an optional extra or free for people financing their cars with only a small deposit.

I've regularly seen services prices in excess of £1k banned about on forums.

A service plan you can budget for sounds a sensible option then :)

ISF is a different monster to the Scooby/GTR comparison. Still brutally quick and a lot of car for the money. Are you thinking of swapping?

Nice, but you have to tell people you drive a Lexus. My dad has an RX400h. Amazing car, but there's always a whiff of beige about it

Having driven the RS4 and played with them on country roads id pick the C63AMG over that... cant comment on the ISF... 63AMG is more RS6 territory :)
