New tyres!

Postby Matty WR1 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:23 pm

I had my Michelin PS3's changed for a set of Goodyear F1 assymetric 2's today - what a change!!

OK, so they need a good scrub in!

But initial thoughts after a 50 mile test in the wet are all positive

Quieter
Front end bite seems improved

Well happy at the moment, and will keep ya posted :D

Just looked at a set, looks like a good winter tyre. What size ? Mine are 225/40/18 but when i put my reg in on kwikfit it says tyre size is 225/45/17. I guess its a prodrive thing ?

225/40 R18 92Y dude:)

Not sure why the reg check says 45?

I need to get them scrubbed in for a proper test, but so far so good...

Wouldnt mind a set myself, did you change all 4 at same time ? Ive got pirrelli rosso on mine, had to put 2 new on the front, edges were going but rest of tread was fine. Had geometry set up now so fingers crossed.

Yes mate all 4 together, hence why I now have x2 Michelin PS3's to sell. They'd only been on for 6000 miles and were fitted in march, I just don't like a mix if you know what I mean!!!

WR1'S came out of the factory on 225/45/17 this is why kwik fit says 225/45/17 the 18'S were added during the conversion from STI to STI WR1.
