Bloody hell! I bought my mate one as a bithday present and he sent the form off Tuesday morning and had the new tax disc and authorisation certificate Friday. It's normally the new V5 that takes a while but I've never waited more than 10 days!

That said, they did 'lose' my uncle's paperwork and that one took about 6 months... :(

I've purchased two private registration numbers from the DVLA website and the process has taken less than a week, but the one I am dealing with now from a private seller may well take longer judging by what I have read, will keep you posted.

they are not to bad mate, each time I've put mine on retention i've got the forms back within 2 weeks... just send everything recorded delivery or go to the dvla local office.

as you've already sorted everything, then you should have you v5 back soon, although the september new registrations might slow the process.
