Debadging the boot.

Postby huzzy » Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:43 pm

I'm sure a few people have done it, so I have a few questions?

Was it hard?

Am I likely to F*ck it up?

What's the best way?

Does it look better?

Piece of piss!

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the badge up,get a bit of fishing line or thread to saw through the adhesive and remove the badge carefully.

Then use tar and glue remover to remove any excess adhesive left over,DON'T polish it off like alot of folk seem to do,WR1 paint is thin as it is so you don't want to remove paint when there's no need.
Going round corners just got a whole lot faster...

Yeah it was quite easy.

I'm quite undecided whether to move the STI badge over to the other side and move the Prodrive badge up abit, or just take them all off completely or leave it how it is. The wife says it looks unbalanced at the moment.

What do you think?

Get a WR1 sticker made up for the other side to balance it out

All comments welcome although I think it's likely I'll be getting rid of the lot!

Won't it look a bit odd with just a boot lock on there?

WR1 badge looks good imo, but think sti badge would look nice back on the other side,i quite like the sti badge. Love it without the subaru on. Would like to do the same but "her in doors" wont let me. Where did you get the WR1 badge done Clark? Did you just get a graphic designer to do it for you?
