I have one of these:

They do one that is tailor made to fit 2004 STi and does the job perfectly.

I bought one of these when i had my WR1 and the seams ripped in moderate winds... they replaced it which was good service. Good product for the money I suppose.

I had a similar issue, I over tightened the straps and ripped the little loop holes on one side - they replaced the whole thing without question.

They also re-supplied me with the little clasps to fasten it with when I accidentally drove over and snapped them both - lol - the did this for free and even sent a few extra.

Despite having ripped it and heard John has done something similar - I would still recommend the cover, just have to be careful not to overtighten it.
