What was the fastest car at Bruntingthorpe?

Postby John Mc » Mon Aug 16, 2010 6:35 pm

...and the most powerful?

By fastest car, I don't mean the fastest driver because I know Adam would win this hands down  :hump:

There were 2 cars that shot past me on the straight noticeably a lot quicker

A white dodge viper Janspeed tweaked one
and
TVR sagaris

The other cars all seemd fairly equally matched
Lotuses didnt have much top end speed and all got left behind as usual.. :)

had a last go in a gtr with a south wales guy in his late 50s (ish)he was a racing driver a really nice guy with a litchfield tweeked legacy.hed re cogged the gtr ,and we got to 165 quite easily and totally in control, awsome machine. went round with adam too
it is better to have had a wr1 and lost it than never to have one at all.

Yer i had a go in the gtr too - amazing car, couldnt believe how quick the gear changes were - must have some dsg gearbox as its a flappy paddle system with no lag when you change up or down. Car had loads more power than the wr1 and the in car screen was just a great boys toy. Interested to see all the gtr drivers staring religously at their gearbox temp on the monitor as apparently if they ever hit 120 degrees the car logs it and bugs the owner to change the gearbox oil. Temp went from 103 to 111 whilst we went on our lap so not much room there... :)

Yer I managed to find myself behind it on the start line. Both my car and the steward waving us all off got caked in stones as it wheel spun off the line and went off like a rocket. Looked absolutely brutal the way it shot off the line. Must get a go in that next year before it overheats :)

I think this still holds the record for the fastest accellerating car in the world 0-100-0...?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuvBLWciOXs

Look at the faster than... and Slower than... columns

http://www.fastestlaps.com/carBugatti_V ... Sport.html

Then look at the GTR 720 faster than... slower than.... it says slower than a Caparo T1.... but look at the Caparo T1 0-100-0 time... WTF?? :?
