I've deleted the pics and uploaded them again in a much more compact format.

It doesn't seem to go much faster though (not my end at least).

Would there be another factor that slows the page down?

No, the other pages are not that slow.

I just wonder if there is something like a 'fixed load' on a page and then some variable memory consumed as you add more pictures.
In this case, I reduced the space consumed by the pictures, but I am afraid there is something else still bugging the page.

Anyone has any understanding of these things ?
