Rally GB 2009

Postby The Swede » Mon Oct 26, 2009 6:21 pm

Who was there ? Saw at least two WR1's there. One with a numberplate starting "BIL " followed by 4 numbers.

We had a great weekend, despite the bad weather on Saturday.

Few pics:

The S2000 cars are getting more and more spectacular. Looking forward to the 2011 championship where we'll have Fiat, Peugeot, Ford, Skoda, Kia, ... :)

Well, the Subaru was not so much unreliable, but actually had sh1te handling.

They did pull the plug a bit too early on the current model though as I think it does perform well in hands of privateers at the moment.

I hope the 2011 championship will prove as popular as the IRC. When you see they had 21 factory backed S2000's in Ypres, that is way beyond what we've seen for the last 3-4 years in the WRC

Indeed was. Just bought a Skoda umbrella for 10 quid the day before and it was very useful to keep next to us to stay dry

Glad you had a good time even though weather was shitty, if you spectate in the UK you get used to shit weather on rally wknds lol.

Shame Miko's bonnet lifted when it did as there was still an outside chance for him till then.

Agree with looking forward to the super 2000's & more manufacturers in 2011, kinda found it a bit lacking this year with just Focuses & C4's.

Had a look round Kris Meekes super 2000 pug a few weeks ago at the McRae stages, he was up for a bit of practise before the Scottish rally in Nov. Didn't see it run though as we went to stage 1 which was cancelled after a bad accident with only around 30 2wd cars gone through, then went to stage 3 but Meeke went out on stage 2 :?

Met Ken Block at the rally to & look forward to him driving in the WRC next year. Really nice sound bloke for a yank  He had time to meet & speak to everyone :D

Are you still involved with the team that are doing the Scottish rally in nov Sandy? If so i do have Jacqui's brothers book of pace notes for the McRae which i think a couple of the stages are going to be used for the Scottish, can send it down to you if your team want a wee sneaky look at them.
